Sean Leake

Founder and Director of Triskele, Sean Leake has 20 years experience in marine and coastal survey and impact assessment. He specialises in marine ecology assessment, EIA management (with a focus on marine renewables and aggregate extraction), offshore wind farm consents process under The Planning Act, management of the post-consent phase for offshore wind farms, and consent management. 

 

Sean’s current role is Offshore Consents and EIA Manager for the Codling Offshore Wind Park in Ireland, leading on Appropriate Assessment strategy, offshore consent management, and leads on EIA strategy offshore. He was overall EIA and Planning Lead for the Awel y Mor Offshore Wind project, as well as lead author on the Planning Statement.

 

Sean has a strong background in the management and co-ordination of EIA, and strategic planning policy analysis, and has been responsible for the delivery of technical chapters, planning policy reviews, and management of a wider team of environmental consultants on a number of projects, including aggregate application areas, offshore wind farm projects and disposal site applications for several of the offshore wind farm projects.

 

Sean has considerable experience of the examination phase for major infrastructure projects under the Planning Act, most notably acting as an expert witness at the issue specific hearing on matters relating to aquatic ecology for the ABLE Marine Energy Park, management of the offshore EIA for Triton Knoll Electrical System and overall EIA management of the Thanet Extension and Awel y Môr Offshore Wind Farms.

An artist, filmmaker and creative professional, Director Lucy Leake creates public engagement and consultation video material to support planning applications. These include documentary, visualisation and interpretation films for proposed offshore wind developments, encouraging an understanding of how these add impact to the seascape. Lucy produced dual language moving image material to support the Awel y Mor Offshore Wind project through the public consultation period, prior to consent.

 

Lucy has 20 years experience working in Higher Education as a Senior Manager and Senior Academic. As Assistant Dean at Arts University Plymouth, she led the development of the Arts and Media portfolio, including building an internationally recognised undergraduate Filmmaking programme. She is a published researcher and writer, her work featuring in a range of peer reviewed journals, including the Journal of Media Practice, and Screenworks. Lucy is also the elected Secretary for the NAHEMI Executive Board, fostering crucial dialogues between member institutions, film education stakeholders, and film industry leaders, and representing the sector in national and international public debate.
